Moon Phases Mosaic Nov 2023 Challenge

This month, November 2023, was my turn to throw a Moon Mosaic Challenge to the lovely FB community.

And I chose to share “Dublz” Technique. This technique was originally shared by CZT Sarah Saffy Fowler on the Zentangle Mosaic App Community.

I did not know her full method of this technique; however when I shared the challenge on FB Group, here’s what she said about the prompt/technique - “Just a quick btw for anyone making these. You don’t have to cut out a hole in the bigger tile …….you just stick the smaller one on top with double-sided sticky tape.”

Here’s how I shared my prompt this challenge -

Hey all,

November 1st 2023 is here, and the admins have kindly requested me to suggest for this month’s Moon Phase Mosaic Theme!

This month I give you “Dublz” themed string design. The term Dublz was coined by CZT Sarah, whom I found on Zentangle Mosaic App. I loved this idea and coincidentally it fits beautifully for our Moon Phase Mosaic Group.

So, here’s how you start with the string theme!

1. Take a Zendala or Round 4.5inch Dia paper/cardstock of any other colour/surface. Cut out a round of about 2inch Dia.

2. Then take another 4.5inch Dia Cardstock/Paper/Tile of a different colour, attach the small round of 2inch one from our previous tile to this present one.

You can use a scotch-tape to stick them together.

PS Note:

If you do not have a scotch-tape, then you can do the

Step:02 by sticking the small round of 2inch over the top of a 4.5inch round tile.

Tangles Suggestions are:

  • · U-2 by Tangle Dream

  • · Floo by Zentangle Inc

  • · Myo by CZT Lucy Farran (Download the Step Out of Myo) Original Step-Outs on CZT Lucy Farran Instagram Page

I am posting a pic from my sketchbook and showing a few variations that you would want to try for Tangle Floo and U-2

Feel free to Save or Pin It on your Pinterest Board.
